Blue Posts Round-Up, What Class Should You Play?

Blue Posts Round-Up

Nevalistis made two posts on the official forums. The first, more important, confirms what we expected: Patch 2.4 is likely to be released on Tuesday, during usual maintenance, unless a technical problem happens. The second is how the Kanai’s Cube icons on the PTR are currently its final iteration.

We have a philosophy of launching patches between Season transitions, and not while a Season is currently active. This leaves a window of possible patch dates; sometime between Season 4 ending and Season 5 beginning. We also, typically, deploy patches on Tuesdays (for North America). However, deployment dates can suddenly shift, including down to the last minute. Technology can be a fickle mistress, and unforeseen circumstances can arise.

This is why we don’t provide firm patch release dates. However, we know a lot of players want to plan their time around new content or the start of the new Season. Announcing a more firm Season date is a way to meet in the middle. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

On Cube Icons

The current cube icons look like this:

top, regular diamond: effect that cannot be cubed (like Hellfire)
middle, empty diamond: effect not cubed yet
bottom, filled diamond: effect already cubed

This is, indeed, the latest iteration of this feature. After some player feedback that our original version of this feature was difficult to read (and difficult to tell the difference between the cubed or not cubed indicators), our artists agreed and we opted for the clearer and more simplified version you see in Hebalon’s screenshot above. What Class Should You Play?

Rhykker made a video talking about what class you should play once Patch 2.4 is released and Season 5 starts. Obviously each player should play whatever sounds the most fun for them, but for those in doubt about it, the video is quite enlightening!
